The Need for Speed Karting Championship runs under the CKNA 2026 Rulebook (rev 26.0). Briggs LO206 classes additionally follow the official Briggs 2026 LO206 Rules, and the Honda GX200 class follows the Guyana Karting Club 2026 Honda Rulebook. Download, read, race clean.

The primary rulebook governing the Need for Speed Karting Championship. Covers all classes, weights, tech inspection, on-track conduct, flagging, protests, and penalties. If the Briggs LO206 rulebook conflicts with CKNA, the LO206 rulebook governs for LO206 classes only.

HONDA GX200 RULES

Guyana Karting Club 2026 Honda Rulebook

The Guyana Karting Club's local rulebook governing the Honda GX200 (200cc) spec class. Engine prep, sealing, fuel, weights, and tech procedure for Honda only. CKNA still governs everything else; this rulebook supersedes CKNA where they conflict for the Honda GX200 class.

By registering for the championship you acknowledge you've read and will abide by all applicable rulebooks for the classes you enter. Official interpretations are issued by race control at each event.

CHAMPIONSHIP PURSE

Win the season. Take the purse home.

The prize listed for each class is the championship purse, paid to the season champion in that class at the end of the series (Round 3, Dec 20, 2026). Per-round results contribute to the championship standings. Top-3 each round receive a podium ceremony; the cheque is presented at the season finale.

MANDATORY

Spec tires from the series - $285 / set

All competitors must purchase tires from the series at the track. Tire brand and compound per class (MG Red and MG Yellow) is fixed and enforced at tech. Tires are included automatically when you register each class.

EVENT FORMAT

Race weekend at a glance.

Every round runs the same format so you always know what to expect.

    Practice week
    Track open every day for the 7 days leading up to the event from 12pm to 9pm. Free for all registered competitors.
  2. 1
    Morning warm-up (race day)
    10-minute warm-up session per class.
  3. 2
    Timed qualifying
    10 minutes per class. Sets the heat race grid.
  4. 3
    Heat race
    12 laps. Sets the final race grid by finishing order.
  5. 4
    Main final
    18 laps. Final results recorded for the championship after tech inspection. Class purse is paid to the season champion at the end of the series.
  6. T
    Tech & podium
    Top-3 impound for post-race tech. Podium ceremony after clearance. Championship purse is presented at the Round 3 (Dec 20) season finale.

Rentals available at check-in. Bring your own if you have one - please register the number at registration.

SAFETY

Approved safety gear only

Snell-approved helmet (SA2020 or newer, K2020+ for cadets/juniors), approved race suit, gloves, neck restraint, and closed shoes are required. Rib protectors highly recommended for all ages, required for cadets and juniors.

Arrive & Drive note: rental packages do not include safety gear. Every driver must bring their own race suit, helmet, rib protector and gloves.

NO-GO

Conduct & penalties

  • • Avoidable contact: time penalty or DQ at officials' discretion
  • • Weight / fuel / tire violations at tech: DQ from the session
  • • Rough driving, blocking, jump starts: post-race penalty on a case-by-case basis
  • • Protests: filed within 30 minutes of session end with $50 bond, refunded if upheld
